Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Make suggestion and response to a suggestion to go some where. Language focus: - Vocabulary: bookshop, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, sweet shop. - Sentence patterns: - Let’s go to the bookshop. – Great idea/Sorry. I’m busy. B. RESOURCES: Students’ book, TV, laptop, board. C. PROCEDURE I. Warm-up. Greeting and sing a song II. Practice: 1. Listen and tick: Ask students to look at the pictures at page 41 Ask students to identify the shops and the objects in the pictures.. Play the recording through for students to listen. Play the recording again for the students to listen and tick the correct answers. Play the recording once more for students to check their answers. Sharing and comparing. Teacher checks and corrects. 2. Look and write. Set the scene: How many pictures are there? Ask students to identify the shops in each picture. Students write on the notebooks individually. Call students write before the class. Teacher checks and corrects. III. Further practice: Let’s sing - Tell pupils that they are going to sing the song Let’s Go - Have them read each line of the lyrics aloud. Check comprehension. AIMS: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to - ask for and give the reasons for going somewhere. - using Why do you want to go to the .? Because I want to . B. RESOURCES: Students’ book, TV, laptop, board. C. PROCEDURE I. Warm up Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by calling some pupils to the front of the class to sing the song Let’s Go. II. Presentation: Identify the characters & what they are doing. - Look and listen to Phong and Mai talking about a place they are going. - Listen and repeat each line of the dialogue. - Listen and note down: Why do you want to go to the..?- Because..... - Read in groups to play roles. - Read in pairs( 4-5pairs), the others listen and give comment. Model sentence: S1: Why do you want to go to the supermarket? S2: Because I want to buy something to eat. III. Practice: 1. Point and say. - s look at the picture and identify the places and things in each picture. bakery/buy some bread cinema/ see a film zoo/see the animals Swimming pool/ swim - Ss read all words in chorus, individual. - Play slap the board game in 2 teams. Because I want to . - practice more about listening, writing and speaking skill B. RESOURCES: Students’ book, TV, laptop, board. C. PROCEDURE I. WARM UP: Greeting II. PRACTICE 1. Listen and circle. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to four dialogues and circle the correct answers. - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and tick the correct pictures. - Get pupils to swap their answers before you check as a class. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. 2. Look and write. - Tell pupils that they are going to complete the sentences - Give them a few seconds to look at the questions and the incomplete answers and to identify the missing words they need to complete the answers. Then focus pupils on the pictures to identify Get pupils to work in pairs, if necessary.- Get them time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if necessary. Get pupils to swap their answers before checking as a class. If there is enough time, call some pairs to role-play the dialogues. 3. Let’s play. -Play Game: Where and Why 5. Consolidation. AIMS: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - practice saying the words with one, two, three and four syllables. - practice reading, speaking, listening. B. RESOURCES: Students’ book, TV, laptop, board. C. PROCEDURES: I. Warm - up: Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by calling a group of four pupils to the front of the class to practice with the sentences: 1. Let’s go to the..... 2. Why do you want to go to the....? II. Practice: 1. Listen and repeat. - Guiding Ss how to produce the sound of the words “book” “ book│shop”, “ba│ke│ry” ,“su│per│mar│ket”. - Play the CD. - Ss pay attention to the letters coloured differently. - Listen and note. - Ss learn to produce the sound of the words “book” “ book│shop”, “ba│ke│ry” ,“su│per│mar│ket”. - Repeat in chorus. - Read in groups./ in pairs. - Give out and check. 1. Have pupils listen to the recording and write the words to complete the sentences.Play the recording more than once, if necessary. Go around and offer help. Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. Ask pupils to read the sentences alous. Check as a class or correct pronunciation, if necessary. 3. Let’s chant - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant What do you want to .? Follow the procedure in Teaching the unit components in Introduction. Have them read the chant and check comprehension. Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions. Call one group of four to give a demonstration. Get groups to sit opposite of each other and practice chanting and doing actions. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
