Aims: By the end the lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about zoo animals using: Why do you want to go to the .? Because .. Students remember the words: Students practice reading, speaking, listening. Objectives: Poster, cards of teacher. B. Procedures: I.Warm – up and review: Teacher asks some students. (pictures) Example S1: What animal do you want to see? S2: I want to see monkeys II. Practice: 1. Listen and write Ask students to look at the pictures at page 61 Ask students to identify the sentences in the pictures. Have Ss in groups guess. Play the recording through for students to listen. Play the recording again for the students to listen and tick the correct answers. Play the recording once more for students to check their answers. Sharing and comparing. Teacher checks and corrects. 2. Look and write. Set the scence: How many pictures are there? Ask students to identify the animals in each picture. Students write on the notebooks individually. Students practice reading, writing, speaking. Objectives: Cards of the characters. B. Procedures: I.Warm - up: Teacher asks some students. II. Practice 1. Listen and repeat. - Guiding Ss how to produce the sound of the words. Ss pay attention to the stress marks(’). - Listen and note. - Ss learn to produce the sound of the words: ’crocodile,’elephant,’wonderful,’beautiful. - Repeat in chorus. - Read in groups./ in pairs. - Give out and check. - Ss look at the sentences, read in individual. - Listen to the tape and circle. Then repeat the sentences twice in chorus. -Read in group/ in individual. - Give out and check. 2. Listen and circle. B. Procedures: I. Warm - up: Ask students read the chant. II. Practice: 1. Read and complete: -Tell pupils that they are going to read the text and focus on the information to fill in the blanks. If necessary, get pupils to work in pairs or groups. Check understanding. - Give pupils time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - Get pupils to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - If there is enough time, let some pairs ask and answer the questions Ask students to answer these questions: 2. Let’s write - Have them work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to write. Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give pupils time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary - Get pupils to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - If there is time, ask one pupil to write the answers on the board. III.
