Objectives: After the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topic: Healthy food and drink - Listen to the recording and circle a, b or c. - Develop Ss listening and writing skills. II. Language focus. 1. Vocabulary: review: bananas, rice, sausages, water 2. Sentence Patterns: review A: How many/much ..do you eat/drink everyday? B: I eat/ drink III. Teaching aids: Textbook, TV, laptop. IV. Procedures A. Class organization. Good morning/ afternoon! Who is absent today? B. Warm up. - Play a game: one minutes, one sentence Using structure: how much/ how many ? C. New lesson. 4. Listen and circle a or b. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and circle a or b. - Play the recording for Ss to listen. - Ask Students to listen again and do the task. - Ask Students to give answers. - Play the recording again for Ss to listen and check. - Give correct answers: 1.b 2.c 3.b 4b 5. Read and complete - Tell the class that they are going to read and fill the gaps with milk, how much, shouldn’t, healthy, how many - Give Students a few times to read the sentences. Procedures. A. Class organization. Good morning/ afternoon! Who is absent today? B. Warm up. - Spend a few minutes having the class say the chant: Healthy food and drink C. New lesson. 4. Read and do the task - Tell the class that they are going to read the text and match them with the headings. - Get them to read the heading and the three paragraphs - Explain the meaning of new words or new phrases. - Ask Students to read the text again and do the task. - Set a time limit for Students to do the task independently. - Monitor the activity and offer help,if necessary. - Ask Ss to compare their answers before checking as a class. - Have Ss give answers. - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation. 1b 2c 3a 2. Project - Tell class that they are going to work in groups and put the words for food and drink into the appropriate group very healthy and not very healthy - Set a time limit for them to do the task. - Invite some Students to present their answers - Give feedback. 7. Colour the stars. - Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension. - Give the time to colour the star and invite a few Ss to read the statement aloud. - Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. II. Language focus. 1. Vocabulary: forecast, foggy, cold, hot, warm, cool, . 2. Sentence Patterns: + What’s the weather like today? - It’s............and .. + What will the weather be like tomorrow? – It will be ....... and ...... III. Teaching aids: Textbook, TV, laptop. IV. Procedures. A. Class organization. Good morning/ afternoon! Who is absent today? B. warm up. - Play a game: slap the board ( sunny/ rainy/ cloudy/ windy/ snowy.....) C. New lesson. 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to look at the picture a and answer the questions: + Who is he/she? + What is she doing? + What’s the weather like? - Have them look at the book and listen to the tape. - Play the recording for Ss listen. - Ask them to repeat a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the rest pictures. - Introduce new words: Forecast, foggy, cold, hot, warm, cool. Let’s talk. - Tell the class that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions about weather. - Get Ss to work in groups of two to ask and answer about the weather today and tomorrow.
